Following on from Yaoundé last month, the EIFORCES’ 11th batch of the Senior Staff Diploma of Security Forces (DEMFS 11) has headed to Bangui, as part of the African component of the teaching module devoted to study missions.
On Monday 12 December 2022, the thirty-strong EIFORCES delegation commenced its mission at the Cameroonian Embassy in the Central African Republic, where Minister Counsellor OWONO ZANG Gabriel, Chargé d’Affaires a.i., welcomed Brigadier General BITOTE André Patrice, Director General of EIFORCES, and his entourage.
After these pleasantries, the agenda of the day proceeded with a visit to the CAR Ministry of National Defence and Army Reconstruction and the General Directorate of the National Gendarmerie. During these stages, the Cameroonian and Togolese trainees were respectively briefed, first by the Minister of Defence, Claude Rameaux Bireau, and his collaborators on the rise in power of the Central African Armed Forces (FACA) as part of the Security Sector Reform, and secondly, by Major General Landry Ulrich DEPOT, Director General of the Gendarmerie on, among other things, the plan to resize the CAR’s Gendarmerie.
