Brigadier General André Patrice BITOTE, Director General of EIFORCES chaired Friday, 18/10/2019 at the EIFORCES Campus in Awaé, the closing of the Training Course for Trainers of EIFORCES in International Humanitarian Law (IHL) and International Human Rights Law (IHRL), organized by the Regional Delegation of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) for Central Africa, in partnership with EIFORCES.
The ceremony was enhanced by the presence of HE Markus Brudermann, ICRC Yaoundé Regional Chief of Delegation, accompanied by Mr CHOLOUS Philippe and Mr Rupert Puldertaft.
During his speech, Mr CHOLOUS Philippe, ICRC facilitator underlined the major role of the EIFORCES for peace and security in Africa. He described this formation as original and whose aim was to make the 19 civilian trainers, police and gendarmes of the EIFORCES autonomous in the dissemination of standards in the field of IHL and IHRL.
Mr Markus Brudermann, in his statement, has expressed its satisfaction for this timely training, not without reassuring the EIFORCES on the availability of the ICRC through its training unit, to sustainably support it in its training and research missions.
The Director General of EIFORCES, closing this internship, expressed its deep gratitude to the ICRC Regional Delegation. He also expressed his wish that this successful experience, further strengthens the partnership between his institution and the ICRC.
