DEBATING CYBERSPACE DURING INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM ORGANIZED BY EIFORCES

“Cyber Mediacracy and security threats: stakes, challenges and response in the age of digitalization “. Such is the theme of the ongoing International Symposium organized by the International School for Security Forces, which opened on 28 April 2022 at the Yaounde Conference Centre.

 

The opening ceremony was presided over by Mr Joseph BETI ASSOMO, Minister Delegate at the Presidency in charge of Defence, Chair of the EIFORCES Board of Directors (MINDEF/PCA/EIFORCES), accompanied for the occasion by his fellow Ministers in charge of Higher Education and Post and Telecommunications.

 

In addition to the MINDEF / PCA / EIFORCES statement, the ceremony was marked by the welcome address by Brigadier General BITOTE André Patrice, Director General of EIFORCES, the presentation of the symposium by the Head of the Research and Documentation Centre and the inaugural lesson by the General Moderator of the symposium.

 

The proceedings, which will last for two days, aim to highlight the threats linked to the liberalisation of IT tools and the digitalisation of world trade, and to seek solutions for better control and effective regulation of the behaviour of stakeholders in cyberspace.

 

Noteworthy in this major activity is the participation of 28 auditors of the 8th batch of the Higher Degree of Security Studies (BESS 8), from Cameroon, Congo, Côte d’Ivoire, Mali and Togo./-
